John Mini, MSCM/L.Ac. is a California and nationally licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. He is the author of numerous books and articles and is the founder of Heart Dawn Pacific a non-profit organization that promotes the study, practice and preservation of indigenous medicine and religion.

John has been setting the standard for high quality personal alternative health care in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1988. His medical practice ranges from individual healing sessions at his San Rafael, California office to on site Feng Shui design and consultation, to media appearances and lectures delivered across the range of academic and social institutions from small rural classrooms to the United Nations. He has traveled worldwide giving lectures and workshops on Medical Anthropology, Aztec Cosmology and the indigenous origins of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

John is now focused on teaching a subject he believes is of central importance to our society today: The Short and Long-Term Effects of Using Marijuana and How to Balance Them Using Traditional Chinese Medicine. (more)

John has studied the beliefs and sciences of indigenous cultures since he was very young. This led him to explore these cultures first hand and to go through many fascinating and unique experiences while traveling abroad. Because of his alternative medical practice, he’s studied a number of indigenous and modern sciences to discover how best to help his patients. This has led him to writing, non-profit work and leading seminars and workshops to help more people than he’s able to in his private medical practice.

The ancient Chinese medical classics state, “The superior physician treats the society as well as the patient.” John lives by this motto.
